Ford Risk worked with this fish processing Company which is well known in its sector and exports to mainland Europe. We had no experience which exactly matched fish processing but we worked with a suitable broker building a profile for this Company.
The broker identified an Insurer who was motivated to win this new potential policyholder. Surveys were arranged and detailed reports prepared at no cost to the client. These were accurate and demonstrated the sound management practice within the organisation.
This risk changed from being "undesirable" to "desirable" within two weeks and was placed at a cost level which we believe many other brokers would have failed to obtain.
Experience indicates that the use of a "specialist" broker does not necessarily mean that the best market prices are offered. If a broker is committed to a particular insurer, they may miss other preferential opportunities available from the wider market. We work with brokers who are willing to challenge the status quo without cutting corners.
